MORIARTY FAMILY OF OTTUMWA

I am just beginning to trace the family tree for my spouse. Have you done any homework on the Moriarty’s? Here’s what I know so far:

Mary Moriarty (born 1791) lived with her son Maurice aka Morris (born 18170) and his wife Mary (born 1822). All came to America from Ireland. They moved to Iowa between 1856 and 1859 and resided in Wapella County – Ottumwa.

Their children and approximate dates of birth:

Mary – 1840 Ohio

Edward – 1842 Ohio

Catharine – 1844 Ohio

John – 1848 Ohio

Elisabeth – 1850 Ohio

Morris – 1852 Ohio aka Maurice???

Bridget – 1856 Ohio

Fergus – 1850 – Iowa

I found 6 Moriarty’s buried in Calvary Cemetery and believe both Mary’s are the parties mentioned above. I’m working on when they arrived in the US and if Mary’s husband came with her from Ireland. I would love to know his name. My husband is celebrating his 50th birthday this weekend and I was hoping to surprise him with this. Appreciate anything you can do to help.
They were members of St. Patrick's Catholic Church of Ottumwa.
