OTTUMWA COURIER DECEMBER 27, 1900

MARRIED AT KEB

Worthy Young People of That Place Joined in Matrimony

KEB - Dec. 27. - On Christmas Eve, at the home of Mr. and Mrs. James Mullier, the wedding of their daughter Miss Matilda Elizabeth to Thomas Gibb was solemnized.

Promptly at 8 o'clock the wedding march began, played by Miss Mary Jones, and the bridal party, by miss Isabel Gibb, the sister of the bridegroom and William Emerson, of Lucas, took their places beneath a beautifully arranged canopy, where 'Squire Haddow' performed the marriage ceremony.

After hearty congratulations had then been bestowed upon the happy couple, the entire party repaired to the dining room, where a sumptuous wedding supper had been prepared. In the center of the table stood the bride's cake, from which ribbons were extended to the corners of the table. When supper had been served dancing was induldged in.

The bride and groom are among the most highly esteemed people of Keb, and the many beautiful and useful gifts received by them testify to the high position they hold in regard of their acquaintances. All who know them join in hearty congratulations and good wishes for their future welfare and happiness. Mr. and Mrs. Gibb will commence housekeeping at once in a cosy little home in Keb which has been prepared by the bride groom.

The out-of-town guests were as follows; Mr. and Mrs. John Mitchell and sons of Pekay, Miss Clara Frank of Ottumwa, John Emerson and Samuel Sedden of Lucas.

Transcriber notes: I have typed this notice exactly as it appeared in the Ottumwa Courier. Thus the spelling of some words may seem wrong to you. In book 14 marriages of Wapello County Iowa has Thomas Gibb age 24 and Matilda Elizabeth Mullier aged 17; page 379.
