Maria Louisa Maring was born October 5, 1846, at Clarville, Belmont County, Ohio. She came to Appanoose county in 1853. On September 28, 1874 she was married to John Evans. To this union was born 4 children, 2 of whom died in infancy. A daughter Anna, died August 7, 1904 aged 21 years. Evan Evans who remained home with his mother is the only surviving child. The husband departed this life February 27, 1891. She leaves 2 brothers, Newton Of Centerville and S T Maring of Missouri. Survived by one sister, Mrs Nancy Clinberd of Axline, iowa (Clinkenbeard of Exline, IA) Maria departed this life November 17, 1910 aged 64 years. She was a resident of Coalfield for 36 years. The remains were laid to rest in Shafer Cemetery. Mrs Maring was a sister to the well know mine operator and business man John Z Evans, of Albia, Tom Evans of Avery and Enoch Evans of Lockman.
