Death of Lucinda Shane, for forty years a prominent resident of this place, but for some years past of Oskaloosa, passed away at her home in that city December 2, 1910. She was born in one of the eastern states, came to Eddyville with her husband, the late T H Shane, in 1855. She is survived by 4 daughters; Jennie, wife of Herman Stein; Ella, wife of Jack Williams, Laura wife of Geo W Bullock of Ottumwa, Mrs Mabel Long: also 2 step-children Mrs T F Riley and Howard Shane. Remains were brought to Eddyville and interred by the side of the late husband in the family lot in the Highland Cemetery.
