Thomas Cornell, whose remains were interred at the Highland Cemetery, was born in Massilion, Ohio, May 5, 1835. He came to Iowa living in Oskaloosa, Eddyville and Ottumwa. Surviving relatives are: his wife and children, Chas Cornell of Bussey, Frank Cornell and Mrs Anna Peppers of Ottumwa, Mrs S C Lane and Miss Hattie Cornell at home. Also 2 sisters, Mrs J A Morey and Mrs James Finley, one brother - Joseph Cornell of NY. He passed away at his home in South Ottumwa, November 26, 1910, 65 years old. When in Eddyville the family resided just south of the park.
