DOUDS - Funeral services for Ross C. Cramlet, 75, prominent educator and farmer of Des Moines and Douds, will be held Tuesday at 12 noon at Westover Funeral Home in Des Moines. A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, north of Douds, with the Rev. Harold Harryman officiating.
Mr. Cramlet died Saturday morning at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines where he had been since suffering a fall at his farm north of Douds on July 22.
He was the son of Frank and Katie Williams Cramlet, born Nov. 20, 1900. He graduated from Douds High School, Parsons College, and held a masters degree from the University of Iowa.
Cramlet taught woodworking in various Iowa high schools. For a number of years prior to his retirement in 1966, he was coordinator at Des Moines Technical High School.
He served as a technical advisor for the Easter Seals Society at Camp Sunnyside near Des Moines, and built numerous special woodworking tools for the use of crippled persons.
Cramlet had been a director of the Des Moines Community College and was the author of several text books on woodworking. He was a Methodist, a Mason, and a trustee of Mt. Moriah Cemetery.
Surviving are his widow, the former Harriette Laughlin; a daughter, Mrs. Karen Fessler of Lynchburg, Va., and two of Lynchburg, Va., and two grandsons.
Local arrangements are in charge of the Pedrick Funeral Home.
