Oct. 29, 1920 - Sept. 22, 1990Alice L. Swift, 69, of 225 S. 15th St., died at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, in Keokuk Area Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 29, 1920, in Keokuk, the daughter of Vernon and Valley Russell Steenberg. She had lived most of her life in Keokuk. On Nov. 6, 1937, she married Vernon J. Swift, in Keokuk.
She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church.
Survivors include sons, Larry Swift of Leawood, Kan., and Lonnie Swift of Keokuk; daughters, Georgia Kay Adams of Keokuk, and Sandra Glasgow of Keokuk; 11 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; brothers, Estel Steenberg and Clayton Steenberg, both of Keokuk, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, a brother, a sister and her parents.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at DeJong's Funeral Home with the Rev. William Olmsted officiating.
Burial will be in Green Glade Cemetery at Farmington.
Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Tuesday with family meeting friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at DeJong's Funeral Home.
