Charles L. Biggs

FREMONT - Charles "Charlie" Llewellyn Biggs, 69, of Fremont died Saturday, Oct. 6, 1990, at his home.

Biggs was born March 12, 1921, in Douds, the son of Howard J. and Clarice Olson Biggs. He married Cora M. Lane March 14, 1945, in Ottumwa.

Biggs attended school in Douds and served as a metalsmith in the United States Navy. He was a member of the Iowa National Blacksmith Association and American Legion Arendt Bowlin Stubbs Post N. 83 of Hedrick, and a former member of the Fremont Lions and the Fremont Volunteer Fire Department.

Surviving are his wife; three daughters, Barbara Curry and Charlotte Biggs of Fremont and Patricia Biggs of Clear Lake; two grandsons; and his mother.

He was preceded in death by his father; three brothers, Benjamin, Harold and Wayne; and two sisters, Florence Biggs and Edna Pederson.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Fremont Funeral Chapel, the Rev. Pacifico Camerin officiating. Burial will be in Cedar Township Memorial Cemetery near Fremont. Full military honors will be given at graveside by the Harry L. Anderson Post No. 34 of Oskaloosa.

Visitation is open. The family will be at the funeral chapel from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the Charlie Biggs Memorial fund.

Obituary addition

FREMONT - Charles "Charlie" Biggs, 69, whose obituary was in Monday's Ledger, also is survived by a brother, Alden Biggs and a sister, Arlene Roberts, both of Fairfield. Their names were omitted from the obituary.
