King Dies In Arizona Mountain Fall
Jon W. King, 27, formerly of Milton and graduated from Bloomfield High School, was found dead Dec. 21 at the bottom of a snow-covered lope in the San Francisco peaks 15 miles north of Flagstaff, Arizona.
The body was found by searchers. Officers said he had fallen several hundred feet down the slope and apparently was killed on impact.
King had parked his car Monday at the Arizona Snow Bowl Lodge and hiked toward the inner basin. A search was started when he failed to return to his car Monday night.
About 100 men, including a crew of expert mountain climbers, took part in the search.
Survivors include his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wendell W. King of Chandler, Ariz. and a sister.
The bachelor had lived in Denver, Colo. for four years. He was a graduate of the University of Iowa.
