My ancestor was Dr. Henry Inloes Childs. He was the first secretary of 1st school district in the English Colony at Washington #9, Lee Co. He was a member of the British Emigrant Mutual Aid Society's Colony in Lee Co. The school was held in a small log house that was leased from Joseph McGown. He later moved to Bonaparte Twp, bought two lots from Dr. Roger N. Cresap (book L pg 12). He had a medical practice there for a few years filling in for Dr. Cresap after his death.
