wikipedia: There were no significant battles in Iowa, but the state sent large supplies of food to the armies and the eastern cities.

Ancestor has a Civil War draft card for 1863, however, no documents have been found for military service or a pension.

Family lore indicates that he may have driven a supply wagon...was there an Iowa Militia unit or other kind of record?
