Dr. Ralph D[ay] ABARR, 76, died at his home in Bedford early Tuesday morning,
June 8.Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church in Blockton Thursday afternoon, June 10 at 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Robt. M. PETERS of Bedford Rev. Clarence MOORE of the Blockton church. Burial in Rose Hill Cemetery at Blockton.
Dr. ABARR was born at Redding and was a resident of Blockton and community before moving to Bedford a few years ago. Mrs. ABARR survives.

Thursday, June 17, 1954, Page 41Ralph Day ABARR, son of Daniel C. and Ann Maria ABARR, was born November 28, 1877 near Redding, Iowa in Ringgold County and died at his home in Bedford Tuesday June 8, 1954 at the age of 76 years, six months and 11 days.
In 1907 he was married to Laura [Lee] LOUTZENHISER, who preceded him in death in 1927. To them one daughter was born, Mrs. Jean GUERNSEY of Des Moines.
In 1928 he married Metta SIMMONS, who lived only one year. He was married to Edna STANLEY of Sheridan, Mo. in November of 1931. She brought into the home two children, a son, Irvin, and a daughter, Frances. She passed away in 1948.
On October 2, 1949, he was married to Gertrude E[mma] WILDMAN of Bedford, who was a loving wife and helpmate until his death.
He was a graduate of the School of veterinary medicine in Kansas City, and located in Blockton, where he practiced 43 years. Due to failing health, he retired from his practice three years ago and moved to Bedford.
Dr. ABARR was a member of the Blockton Methodist church.
Five sisters and four brothers preceded him in death: Addie May ABARR, Cordelia A. BENDER, Gertrude GALLAGHER, Silas W. ABARR, Curtis ABARR, Mary C. EDWARDS, Alvin J. ABARR, Alice Belle PARKER, Harlan S. ABARR.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Gertrude ABARR of Bedford; a daughter, Mrs. Jean GUERNSEY of Des Moines; two step-children, Mrs. Frances AMRINE of Blockton, Irvin STANLEY of Columbia, Mo.; one sister, Mrs. Elfie HOLLAND of Redding; one brother, Milleage L. ABARR of Albany, Mo.; three grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted from the Methodist church in Blockton June 10 at 2:00 o'clock by Rev. Robt. M. PETERS of Bedford and Rev. Clarence MOORE of Blockton. Burial in Blockton cemetery.
