Funeral services for Ralph R. Livingston, 77, of Bedford, retired farmer, held April 9 t Shum-Novinger Mortuary on State Street, were conducted by rev. John D. Kerr and Carl Cummings. Mr. Livingston died on April 5 at Clarinda Municipal Hospital. Interment was at Fairview Cemetery.
Ralph R. Livingston, the eldest son of Benjamin P. and Margaret Ann Cochran, was born on a farm in Page County, Iowa, on February 15, 1889.
He was united in marriage on September 25, 1912, to Edna Phon Singleton, and to this union were born four children, Hal R., Mrs. Donald (Helen) Haynie of Bedford, Ralph Max of Fresno, Calif., and Dorothy Jean of the home.
He spent his life in Page and Taylor counties except for five years in Nebraska. He retired and moved to Bedford in 1958.
He united with the Bedford Presbyterian Church on April 12, 1925.
He is survived by his wife; four children; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one son-in-law and two daughters-in-law; one sister, Mrs. Virgil (Mary) Putnam of Chillicothe, Mo., and a host of relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, mother and one brother, Rollie, who died in World War I.
