Dorothy Gayle Homan Casey, daughter of Hervey and Vinnie Homan, was born at Carl, Iowa on September 9, 1924. She passed away unexpectedly at her home 7 miles northeast of Lenox on January 10, 1961.
She graduated from the Corning High School in 1941. On March 20, 1943 she was married to Ray Casey of Kent, Ia. To this union three sons were born.She was preceded in death by her father. She was a member of the Federated church at Stringtown, Ia., where she taught the Junior High Sunday School class. She was a wonderful mother, a good friend and neighbor, and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Ray, three sons, Larry 17, Duane 13, and Stephen 12, her mother, Mrs. Vinnie Homan of Prescott, Ia., her sister, Mrs. Rex Pierce of Lenox, Ia., Rayps parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin Casey, sisters-in-law Mrs. Clark Means of Villisca and Mrs. Dan King of St. Louis, MO., two nieces, four nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services were held January 12, 1961 at 2 p.m. from the Federated church at Stringtown with Rev. Keith Smith officiating. Music was by Rolland Buxton and Norma Paymal.
Pallbearers were Fred Stillinger, Allen Pine, Homer Teatsworth, Lyle, John, Joe Brown and Marvin Routh. Burial was in Stringtown cemetery.
