While researching Civil War veterans we found Thomas Richardson who is buried at Nevada. He has a military stone which was ordered about 50 years after his death and the person who was in the regiment on the stone is buried in Chickasaw County. Someone by the same name was found on the 1880 Census in Warren, Story county B 1818 in England and his occupation was "vetnary surgeon". Newspaper articles from 1883 and 1887 indicate that a grave for Thomas Richardson was decorated for memorial day in those years. We are looking for military info--possibly Mexican or or Indian Wars, if not Civil, so that he can be recognized for his service. A bio or obit could help. Thanks.
