SPURGIN, SPURGEON, POOR, POORE, PORE

I am seaarching for information concerning William D. Spurgin and Mary Poor. William and Mary were married in Barthlomew Co, Ind. in 1850.
At that time Parthena Poor was living in the vicinity. When in 1856 William and Mary are located in Story Co Ia., Parthena Poor is also listed in Story Co. Ia. I would like to know if there is a connection between the two. I am searching for Mary's parents and siblings. This could be a very important discovery. (I hope)
