Family Tree of John O Johnson (Birkestrand) & Martha Lee

In some genealogy info my dad had, I found a family tree that says "Lee Family Tree". His writing is hard to read and I am confused by some of the surnames. It goes something like this:
Ole Paulson Viland (Lee) & Martha Egeland (1st wife). Their children were Martha & ? Ole's 2nd wife was Anna Egeland. Their children were Iakarias (?), Ole, Paul and Martha (my GG Grandmother).
My GG Grandmother Martha, married John O. Johnson (Birkestrand). Their children were Ella Berhow, Wier Birkestrand, Henry Birkestrand, Anna Sheldahl (my Great Grandmother), George Birkestrand, Albert Birkestrand, Cora Hulderson, Rasmus Birkestrand, Annette Kloster and Emily.
My Great Grandmother married Henry Sheldahl. My grandmother was Angeline Carrie Sheldahl Wierson. My father was Wesley Sterling Wierson.
I am confused as to which last name to go by. Did my GGG Grandfather Ole Paulson Viland, change his last name to Lee after coming from Norway? Did my GG Grandfather John O. Johnson, change his name from Birkestrand to Johnson?
Some of the cousins names I can read are Agnes Fatland, Olga Erickson, Alma Cleveland, Carrie Anderson, Jeanette Twedt, Maryanne Lewis, Hilda Lewis, Cora Lewis, Molly, Blanche, Annette, Rasmus, Pauline. The last names of the females I assume to be their married names.
