OBITUARY
Lucia Helen HARVEY, the second child of Elijah and Cynthia HARVEY, was born in Washington Co., Iowa March 19, 1864. At the time of her death, August 21st, she was 75 years, 5 months and 2 days of age.

When about eighteen years of age, she moved with her family to Hubbard, Hardin, County. Here she was united in marriage with Christopher STANLEY, February 17, 1886. to this union were born three children, one of whom died in childhood, Iola Mae, who died three years ago, and Arbie now Mrs. Oscar GARLAND. Mr. STANLEY passed away August 28, 1893.

Mrs. STANLEY was united in marriage with James Henry SHARP, September 3, 1896 at Eldora, Iowa. Mr. Sharp had three children. Oscar, Willie and Bertha to whom she was a good stepmother. To this union was born one son, Harvey of Rolphe, Ia. There was also one adopted son, Leland, of California.

The family moved to a farm near Tingley in 1901 and in 1919 they moved into Tingley where they have since made their home.

About ten years ago, Mrs. SHARP suffered a stroke of paralysis and since then has not been in good health. Last April she suffered another stroke and since then she has gradually declined.

When a young girl she united with the Methodist church. In Tingley she had been active in church work and the W.C.T.U.

Besides her husband and children she is survived by one brother, Wiley HARVEY of Doniphan, Mo., 10 grandchildren of her own, 26 step-grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held Friday morning at the home with Rev. L.M. KIRBY officiating. Burial was at Hubbard, Iowa.

In the difficult task of being a mother to her own and her husband's children she won the commendation of her husband and friends. In her bible was found this message seemingly intended for her loved ones. It was entitled, "A Message of Sympathy to Comfort You."

"God in Love has promised,
Grace for every trial,
Strength for every sorrow,
Help for every mile,
And may He in sympathy
And unfailing love impart
Hope for each tomorrow
And new courage to your heart."

We wish to express our sincere thanks to the good folks of this community for their kind help in our hours of need and for the many expressions of sympathy at the time we lost our beloved wife and mother.

We sincerely appreciated the beautiful flowers and lovely music, and we thank you with all our hearts.
