Obituary - Mrs. J.M. COFFIN
Margaret Ann SNEER was born at Loudenville, Ohio, Sept. 13, 1837, and died at her home in Tingley, Iowa, Aug. 9, 1907.
She was united in marriage September, 1856, to Alexander BLACKMORE, also a native of Ohio. He departed this life Sept. 6, 1898. To this union were born five children - two daughter and three sons. One daughter and two sons died in infancy and John S. in October, 1889. The living is Mrs. Nellie LANDRETH of Creston, Iowa.
April 11, 1905, she was united in marriage to J.M. COFFIN of Tingley. Mrs. COFFIN united with the Christian church in 1864, but later became a member of the M.E. church. All her life she has been a cheerful worker for Christ. She leaves besides a daughter and husband, to mourn their loss, four grandchildren and three sisters. Mrs. COFFIN was always a kind and loving mother and sister and will be greatly missed by a large circle of friends.
The funeral services were held from the home Saturday afternoon at 1 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E.S. MENOHER of Afton, assisted by Rev. W.L. HOLLY. A large congregation was present, the services being held on the lawn. Interment was made in the Johnston cemetery southeast of Tingley. The floral offerings were among the most beautiful ever sen in Tingley. A large procession followed the remains to the last resting place.
