Flight Officer Leo V. HERROLD, born January 28, 1919, served during World War II with the U.S. Army Air Force. FLO HERROLD died during a plane crash near Dododura, new Guinea in the South Pacific on January 18, 1943, and was interred at Plot D, 264, Golden Gate National Cemetery, San Bruno, California. A memorial stone was placed at Centenary Cemetery near Knowlton, Ringgold County, Iowa.
