OBITUARY - JOANNA (CASE) GILLILAND

Joanna GILLILAND, 95, Independence, Kan., died Tuesday, Oct. 24, 2000, at the Manor Nursing Home, Arkansas City, Kan. She was born April 19, 1905, in Ringgold County, Iowa, to A. Lincoln and Rosetta (JOHNSON) CASE. She was raised in Newkirk, Okla., where she graduated from high school in 1926. She married Vernon D. GILLILAND on Feb. 28, 1930, in Ottawa, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1980. She was a homemaker as well as a farmer. She moved to Independence after her husband's death and later moved to Arkansas City. She also was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Survivors include a son, Ronald GILLILAND, Olathe; a sister, Alpha TALLEY, Bartlesville, Okla.; and two grandchildren.

Cremation. The graveside memorial service will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Oak Lawn Cemetery in Olathe. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Presbyterian Manor Nursing Home, 1711 N. 4th, Arkansas City, KS 67005. Arrangements are by the Webb & Rodrick Funeral Home, Independence, Kan.
