DEATH of JOHN SCOTT.

John SCOTT, one of the pioneer settlers of Ringgold county, died suddenly at his home in Athens township, Tuesday morning at 4 o'clock. Mr. SCOTT had been to Kellerton on Monday and walked out to his farm in the evening. While sitting talking to his son, he was stricken with paralysis in one arm. Medical aid was summoned and everything possible was done to save him, but the paralysis affected the heart and his death occurred early Tuesday morning. The funeral will be held today. Mr. SCOTT was one of Ringgold county's most highly respected citizens and his loss will be keenly felt in the community. A more extended obituary notice will be given later.

NOTE: John SCOTT was born March 29, 1833, and died March 7, 1889. His wife Ann was born May 25, 1831, and died August 26, 1898. They were interred at Maple Row Cemetery, Kellerton, Ringgold County, Iowa.
