We are searching for information on Samuel Quinn McCord, born about 1851 in Johnson Co. IA, and we believed may have lived in Pottawattamie in the
late 1890's and may have died there. He was the son of Samuel McCord and Eleanor (no last name known) He was married to Hester Hill of Audubon Co. IA, in 1874 and they had 8 children; Charles, Grace, Clarence, Kenneth (who died in infancy), Mable, Floyd, Verna, and Harley. All the
children were born in Audubon Co. and he left when Harley was about age 2. He may be buried in an unmarked grave someplace in Pottawattamie Co.
He walked off on his family in about 1893 and we do not know where he ended up but the story has been told that he ended up a drunk on the
streets of Avoca, IA. We would love to find Samuel Quinn MCCORD'S death date and burial site so we can put flowers on his grave. We do have the rest of the family history and are missing this one very important part of our family history.
