I'm not related to this family, but it's interesting that my Dad and Grandfather worked for the Karschner family in Hebron, Nebraska, in the 1900's on a road crew and lived in sort of a shanty-town known as Karschner's Addition. I have pictures of my Dad as a little boy there.
Anyway, to help you out, here is what I find.
In the 1910 census for Hale Co., TX, Plainview town, S.D. 13, E.D. 115, SHEET 18a:

KARSCHNER, Elda M., age 24, married once, 4 yrs, gave birth to one child; b. IA, father b. IA, mother b. MI
KARSCHNER, Lawrence J., son, age 3, b. NEIn the 1920 census for Pottawattamie County, IA, Council Bluffs, Wesley is shown with a new wife but his son, Lawrence is with him:
KARSCHNER, Wesley, age 36, b. NE, father b. US, mother b. US, sales manager
KARSCHNER, Blanche, 29,, b. IA, father b. US, mother b. US, no occupation
KARSCHNER, Lawrence, age 13, b. NE
KARSCHNER, Geraldine, 8 months, b. NE
JENKINS, Ruth, step-daughter, age 10, b. NE
JENKINS, Mary, step-daughter, age 8, b. NEThen in the 1930 census for Denver, Colorado, I find Elda M. SANBORN:
SANBORN, ELDA M., age 40, divorced, renting, b. IA, father b. IA, mother b. MI, no occupation
SANBORN, Elda L., daughter, 18, b. TX, stenographer at factory.
SANBORN, Almon, son, age 16, b. IA, no occupation
