I'm unable to help with your query, but am intrigued by your name. Helen Johnson is probably very common, but I needed to ask. My grandmother, Helen Francis Cocklin, and my grandfather, Willard Merrium Johnson, were married in Council Bluffs in 1924. So, my grandmother's married name was Helen Francis Johnson and my mom's maiden name was Helen Joan Johnson. My grandmother was at St. Mary's Orphanage in the 1920 census and my mom was born at home in Council Bluffs on December 9, 1928.
