Heather M. Lister, age 43, of Des Moines passed away on September 29, 2024 in West Des Moines.

The daughter of Kevin Lister and Kathi (Smith) Harris, Heather was born on August 7, 1981 in Des Moines. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1999 and received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Mercy College of Health Sciences in 2010. She retired from her nursing career in 2024.

Heather dedicated her life to her family and patients. She enjoyed traveling with her family to parks and sporting events throughout the United States, and cruising oceans with them far and wide. She was an avid booster of her children's many activities, never missing a moment to cheer them onward in their academic and sporting events and endeavors.

Those left to honor her memory include her children, Aubrie, Alex, and Aiden; her parents and step-father Dale Harris; her brother, Cory (Nicole), and nephew Hayden, as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Preceding her in death were her grandparents, and two uncles, Jeff Lister and Mike Smith.

At Heather’s request, there will be no service or visitation; instead a Celebration of her Life is to be held on October 20th from 2-5 p.m. at Valley Junction Activity Center, 217 5th St., West Des Moines, IA, 50265.

She also requested no flowers. In lieu of flowers or any other form of remembrance, memorial gifts may be made to the Heather Lister Memorial, 316 6th St., West Des Moines, IA 50265. Checks may be made out to Aubrie Chapman. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com
