A valuable horse belonging to Capt. Taylor Pierce, of Des Moines, was killed the other day in a rather singular manner. He was playing in the stable yard, and while running stepped on the handle of a manure fork, which tilted the forked end upward, against the tines of which he ran, and was pierced to the heart, dying in a few minutes,
