The Clinton Age, Clinton, Iowa, February 25, 1887

The following Iowa Postmasters were confirmed on Tuesday: L. H. Bowes, Eldora; E. J. Higgins, Ackley; George C. Rodman, Washington; George P. Neal, Columbus Junction; Wm. H. Merritt, Des Moines; James N. Davis, Knoxville; Alexander Charles, Cedar Rapids; Alice H. Groves, Afton. It was expected there would be quite a fight made on confirming Merritt of Des Moines and Charles of Cedar Rapids, but they went through alright and the AGE is glad of it.
