Clifton W. Peterson

Clifton W. Peterson, 76, a live-time resident of Pocahontas was dead on arrival Thursday evening, Dec. 8 a Pocahontas Community Hospital where he was taken following a sudden illness at his home.

Services were Monday, Dec. 12 at 2:00 p.m. in the Elfsborg Lutheran Church south of Pocahontas with burial in Grant Township cemetery.

Pallbearers were Brent Peterson, Leland Peterson, Thomas Peterson, James Craig, Chris Murray, and Don Cordes.

Surviving is his wife, Elsie; sons, Calvin, Waterloo and Cortland, Des Moines; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Myrtle Langsett, San Diego, Calif.; and brothers, Chester, San Diego, and Herb, Pocahontas.

Born near Pocahontas, Mr. Peterson attended area schools. He married Elsie Broderson in 1922 at Fort Dodge and he had been the owner-operator of the Skelly Service Station here until the time of his death.
