Note: Her actual name is Anna Wilhelmina “Louise” Milbrodt Koch. One of her middle names could be Louisa since that name is on her gravestone. Her mother's maiden name Wegener.

MRS. JOHN KOCH IS CALLED BY DEATH TUESDAY JULY 2

Rites Held Friday For An Esteemed Akron Resident

Mrs. John Koch, a resident of Northwest Plymouth county since early childhood, passed away at her home in this city Tuesday, July 2, after a brief illness, aged 75 years and 5 days.

Louise Milbrodt was born June 27, 1888, in Geestgottberg, Germany, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Milbrodt, and came to the United States with her parents at the age of 2 1/2 years. She was united in marriage with John Koch on February 19, 1908, at the home of her parents near Akron, and they farmed in this vicinity until retiring and moving to LeMars, living there from 1948 until 1955, when they returned to their farm and came to Akron to live last February. Mrs. Koch was an active member of St. John’s Lutheran church, Preston township.

Survivors include her husband, John; five daughters, Mrs. Elia Wilkins, Mrs. Lorena Gable and Mrs. Minnie Borchers,, all of Akron; Mrs. Lillian Schroeder of Hartley, Ia., and Mrs. Evelyn Rademacher of Geneseo, Ill.; four sons, William Koch of Hawarden, Lt. Comm. Henry Koch of Baysise, Va.,, August Koch of Vancouver, Wash., Rev. Lowell Koch of Iowa City; three brothers, Herman Milbrodt and John Milbrodt, both of Akron, and Fred Milbrodt of Sioux City.

Funeral services were held Friday afternoon in St. John’s Lutheran church, Preston township, Rev. Conrad Guetzlaff officiating. Richard Hillrichs was soloist and Mrs. Wm. Van Buskirk was organist.

Pallbearers were Ronald Schroeder, Wm. Rademacher, JR., Dennis Wilken, Stanley Koch, Leon Gabel and Robert Borchers. Interment was in the church cemetery.

All the children of the deceased were present for the funeral services.
