A SWELL PARTY
The Union hotel Saturday evening was the scene of the most elaborate and merry party of the winter. It was given to Mr. Charles A. Wernli and Miss Ella Bryan by a few of their most intimate friends as a kind of a farewell to single blessedness cards being out for their wedding.

Covers were laid for twenty-two at the banquet which was very elaborate and served in fine courses. The tables were elegantly decorated. After the banquet, coffee was served in the parlors for the ladies while the gentlemen enjoyed their cigars in the dining.

The remainder of the evening was devoted to dancing to the music of the harp.

THE TWAIN ONE
Marriage of Charles A. Wernli and Ella Bryan.

“Happy is the bride whom the sun shines on.” The sun never shown brighter than yesterday at the wedding of Miss Ella Bryan to Charles A. Wernli. The ceremony was performed at the Congregational church at five o’clock. The church was elaborately decorated with flowers and greenhouse plants and was filled with wedding guests from the large circle of friends of the contracting parties. J. R. Street, Ed A. Dalton, E. P. Sammis and Alex Reichmann in full dress suits met the guests at the door and ushered them to seats.

To the joyful strains of Mendelssohn’s wedding march, artistically rendered on the pipe organ by Mrs. Walter Baily, the wedding party marched up the aisle to the altar, where Rev. Jas. E. Snowden pronounced the impressive words of the marriage ceremony. The bridal couple were accompanied by Geo. D. Wernli the groom’s brothers as groomsman and Miss Emma Kehrberrg as bridesmaid.

The bride was dressed in ivory silk with lace trimmings, roses, white kid shoes and gloves. The bridesmaid in pink landsdowne.

The wedding moved out of the church to the music of Tannhauser’s wedding march and took a hack for the home of Geo. E. Richardson, where a reception was given for the young couple. Refreshments were served and congratulations extended. The large array of beautiful presents attracted its share of admiration.

Mr. and Mrs. Wernli took the evening train for Chicago, but will be back in LeMars in a few days and soon go to housekeeping in their residence recently purchased of Dr. Ensminger.

The bride and groom are among the most popular and worthy young people in the city and a host of friends will wish them all the joys of life.

Wedding at LeMars.
LeMars, March 30. — Special:
The wedding of Chas. A. Wernli to Miss Ella Bryan took place in the Congregational church in this city last night at 5 o’clock in the presence of a large number of the contracting parties’ friends. The ceremony was performed by Rev. J. E. Snowden. A reception was held at the residence of the bride’s uncle, Geo. E. Richardson, where the bride has made her home for the past several years, immediately after the ceremony.

The groom is the secretary of the Plymouth Roller Mill company, of this city. The bride is a charming young lady, who has made her home for several years with her uncle and aunt in this city. The newly married couple took the evening train for Chicago, where they will spend a short time visiting the World’s Fair city.
