Last rites for Mrs. Walter (Marie E.) Sabbath, 87, a native of Wilton, were held at Zion Lutheran church, Muscatine, Jan. 11 with the Rev. Robert Ahlstrom officiating. Burial was in Greenwood cemetery, Muscatine.

Mrs. Sabbath died at the Lutheran Homes, Muscatine, Jan. 8.

The daughter of Peter P. and Elizabeth Jipp Grunder, she was born at Wilton Sept. 24, 1900. She lived in the Sweetland township area, Muscatine county, all of her adult life. She was married to Walter Sabbath in Muscatine Feb. 21, 1925. She had lived at the Lutheran Homes for 11 years.

She is survived by 2 sons, Charles J., Muscatine and John W., Cedar Falls; a daughter, Mrs. Arthur (Betty) Miller, Muscatine; 8 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
