On the 2nd day of December, 1839, by John Briggs, living four miles west of Bloomington, Muscatine County, Iowa Territory, three head of neat cattle to wit; one a red cow, with white belly and the right hind foot white marked with a swallow fork in each ear, eight or nine years old, appraised at twenty dollars; also a heifer three years old last spring, with bridle sides, with white back and belly, marked with a swallow fork in each year, appraise at twenty dollars; also, a dun steer three years old last spring, with a white face, marked with a swallow fork in each ear, appraised at twenty dollars.
