Death Takes M. Mahoney

Mary Marguerite Mahoney, 75, 200 W. Grimes, died this morning at the Boone County Hospital in Boone.

Last rites will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church with Father Karl Holtkamp, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Prayers for a Christian Wake will be held Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Raymond Funeral Home.

Miss Mahoney was born Aug. 13, 1899 in Hiteman, Iowa, the daughter of Daniel and Julia Cothran Mahoney. She graduated from Chariton High School and attended Iowa Success in Ottumwa.

In 1919, she came to Fairfield to work at the Louden Machinery Co. In 1933 she joined the office staff of the Iowa Malleable Iron Co. where she was employed until her retirement in 1965.

Miss Mahoney was a member of St. Mary Church and the Altar and Rosary Society. She is survived by one sister, Lucille Ballentyne, Boone.
