Darlene (Mauch) Snow, 89, of Mapleton, Iowa passed away Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at Maple Heights Nursing Home, Mapleton, Iowa.

A funeral mass will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, January 8, 2025 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Mapleton, Iowa with Father William McCarthy, celebrant, officiating. A live stream of the service will be posted on the Goslar Funeral Home website with Darlene’s obituary. Burial will follow in the St. Clair Cemetery in Ute, Iowa. A visitation will be 4:00 P.M. – 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at the Goslar Funeral Home Chapel in Onawa with a scripture wake service at 6:00 P.M. Arrangements are under the direction of Goslar Funeral Home and Monuments, Onawa, Iowa.

Darlene Maxciene was born December 21, 1935 at home in Mapleton, Iowa, the daughter of Dale and Margaret (McCall) Barnes. She grew up in Mapleton and attended Catholic School in Mapleton.
Darlene Barnes and Marvin Mauch, Sr. were married May 23, 1953 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mapleton. Marvin passed away July 20, 1982. Darlene and Lloyd Snow were united into marriage July 27, 1984. Lloyd passed away March 8, 2004.

She stayed at home and enjoyed raising her children. Darlene loved horseback riding, bowling, embroidering, and singing.

She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Mapleton.

Survivors include her children, Marvin (Linda) Mauch Jr., Becky (Tracy) Smizer, Colleen (Paul) Owens, Stephen (Penny) Mauch, Lori (Les) Gosch, and Tina (Maxwell) Blair; thirty-four grandchildren, sixty-six great-grandchildren; nineteen great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Janet Schneekloth, and Kathy Carlson; and many other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Marvin Mauch, Sr. and Lloyd Snow; parents, Dale and Margaret (McCall) Barnes; son, David (Nancy) Mauch; son-in-law, Ray Pierick; grandchildren, Stephanie, Ryan, Anthony, and Liz; great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Evelyn; sisters, Betty Barnes, Donna Hintz, and Joan Ohlmeier; grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.
