Hollowed nutshells tied with varicolored ribbon were employed to reveal the wedding date of Miss Jean Nicholson and Max Browneller, both of Oskaloosa, at tea served from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Sunday at the home of the Bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Nicholson. Miss Marth Jackson presided at the tea table.
Date of the wedding September 18, was revealed to some 35 guests. Out-of-town guests was Miss Marlene Anderson of Des Moines. Miss Faye Brooks also of Des Moines was unable to be present.
Miss Nicholson was graduated from Oskaloosa high school with the class of 1938 and has since been employed at the Northwestern Bell telephone office.
Mr. Browneller, son of Mr. and Mrs W.E.Browneller, was graduated from Oskaloosa high school with the class of 1936 and has been farming with his father. (likely from the Oskaloosa Herald, between 1939-1941)
