...and wore a hat to match the dress. She carried a shower bouquet of red roses.
Mrs. Vallandingham wore a street length dress in a new shade of green crepe, with elbow length sleeves and green hat. Her bouquet was of red-orange roses.
Church decorations included ferns and mixed bouquets of flowers. Mrs. W. W. Williams played nuptial music and Mrs. J.P. Nash and Miss Nora Everman sang a duet.
Out-of-town guests at the wedding and reception, held immediately after the wedding ceremony, included Mr. and Mrs. William Blesse of Davenport, Mr. and Mrs. Wiliam Shelton of Rock Island, and Mr. and Mrs. D.B. Edwards of Des Moines. Members of the immediate families were present at the wedding and reception.
A wedding dinner was served at the home of the bridegroom's parents in the evening, at which dinner the centerpiece was a decorated three-tiered wedding cake.
Both the bride and bridegroom attended Oskaloosa high school and the bridegroom's occupation is trucking.
The couple will make their home on Kilpatrick's Fox Farm, five miles west of Oskaloosa (likely the Oskaloosa Herald, 1939).
