Mrs. J.C. Beach, 410 south First street, was hostess to members of the Independent Garden club at her home recently. Assistant hostess was Mrs. Margaret Stoddard. Program comprised demonstrations of artistic and modern table settings. Mrs. Lester Butler and Mrs. O.D. Burbank set a table of antique chinaware and glassware. Mrs. Hazen Pettit set a pretty tea table and Mrs. Jack Skelton an attractive breakfast table. Several slides illustrating table settings and silverware and correct usage were shown with Mrs. E. S. Stovall and Mrs. Ernest Brewer giving lectures on the slides. Mrs. Addie Shields of Eddyville was a guest of the club. Refreshments were served.
