January 6, 1929 — March 5, 2025

With love and gratitude, we celebrate the beautiful life of Violet Williamson, who was called home to be with the Lord on March 5, 2025, at the age of 96.

Violet was united in marriage to Paul Williamson on February 14, 1946, and together they were blessed with five children. She lived a long and full life, filled with hard work, love, and cherished traditions. Though we will miss her deeply, we take comfort in knowing she is now resting in the presence of her Savior.

Violet grew up on the family farm, where she learned the values of perseverance, faith, and finding joy in life’s simple blessings. Whether tending to her garden, making homemade noodles, quilting, sewing blankets for premature babies in the hospital, or searching for treasures at garage sales, she poured love into everything she did. Even well into her 90s, she could still be found mowing her yard and caring for her flowers—a testament to her strength and independence.

Above all, Violet’s greatest joy was her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the light of her life, and she treasured every moment spent with them. Christmas Eve was her favorite tradition, gathering the whole family for chili, laughter, and presents—a memory we will forever hold close to our hearts.
She shared many adventures with her best friend and sister-in-law, Lena Hirsch. Every Friday, they met for coffee and conversation at Montross Pharmacy before picking up groceries for the week—a simple tradition that brought them years of joy and friendship. Violet also had a feisty spirit and a great aim—just ask the goat that once wandered into her flowers!

She was a woman of deep faith, kindness, and resilience, and her love will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She is now reunited with those who went before her, including her beloved husband, Paul, after 54 years of marriage, and her grandsons, David Williamson and Carson Cloe.

She leaves behind her beloved children: Nancy Howard, Lon Williamson, Gary Williamson, Gayle Williamson, and Arleen Williamson; 16 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; as well as many cherished family members and friends who will forever carry her legacy forward.

A visitation will be held from 1:00-3:00 PM, on Sunday, March 9, 2025, at Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home, Winterset Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM on Monday, March 10 at the funeral home, followed by interment at Blair Chapel Cemetery in Saint Charles.

We invite all who loved her to join us in honoring her memory.

“Come to me, all of you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” – Matthew 11:28
