Page 4, Column 5William Ward Paullin, eldest child of Lewis Elmer and Eva Belle Palmer Paullin, was born May 20, 1900 on a farm near Earlham, Iowa. He attended school in the Dexter school area.
In 1925 he was married to Anne Williams, of Dexter. Three children were born to this union, Richard Dale and twin daughters who died at birth. Anne passed away in July of 1929.
On December 21, 1931 Ward was married to Luese Allsup, of Dexter. Ronald Ward, James Lewis and Judith Marlene were born to this union.
Ward worked in a creamery and became a butter-maker. He was involved in the produce business for many years and eventually owned and operated his own gas station and produce. After his retirement he continued to keep busy with various part-time jobs and his favorite pastimes of fishing and playing cribbage.
Luese passed away in August of 1982 and Ward was called to rest on April 26, 1985 at the Adair County Hospital in Greenfield, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his parents, his infant daughters, both of his wives and three brothers, Irwin, Walter and Eldon.
Surviving are his four children, Richard Dale, of San Diego, California, Ronald, of Blue Springs, Missouri, James, of Greenfield, Iowa and Judith Wren, of Lakewood, California; two sisters, Eva Morford, of Dexter, and Myrtle Witkowski, of Des Moines; 19 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
Ward was a familiar sight on the streets of Dexter in his white overalls and will be missed by many relatives and friends.
Funeral services were conducted April 29, 1985 at the United Methodist Church, Dexter, Iowa, with the Reverend Robert Farr officiating. Robert Lawson provided organ music. Pallbearers were Edward Love, Dick Adkins, Cliff Rater, Vernon Cooley, Dean Stiles, and Dennis Simpson. Interment was in Dexter Cemetery, Dexter, Iowa.

Linda: include some info from : He was born near Earlham. His first wife is buried in the Eppard-Pitzer cemetery along with his twin infants. You can do what you want with him. He was well known to the older people in Earlham, but lived in Dexter after his 1st wife died.
