Angelo P. Mascaro, 91 of Winterset, IA passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Madison County Memorial Hospital. Angelo was born April 4, 1933 in Des Moines, to Stella and Angelo Mascaro. He met his wife Patty in 1956, they were married in 1957 and lived in Des Moines, where they raised two sons Jimmy and Joe, before eventually moving to Winterset where they built their log home by hand.
Angelo proudly served in the United States Army in Korea through 1955. He worked for Ford Implement for 20 years until retirement. After retirement he started raising cattle, learning all that it takes to be a farmer. He loved animals of all kinds. He was a master craftsman with the ability to make or build anything. He had a love for motorsports, spending many years racing super modifieds and being recognized for his career feature wins at Knoxville Raceway. He also enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, and fishing.
He was loved as a husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his wife, Patty Mascaro; sons, Dr. Jimmy (Dr. Hilda) Mascaro, Smithtown, NY and Joe (Jody) Mascaro, Seattle, WA; grandchildren, Matthew, Angela (Robby), Andrea (Brad), Alex, and Kayla; great-grandchildren, Tommy, Cody, Mickayla, Aubrey, Anna, Ava, Farrah, Leia, Della, Colt, and Lilla; and niece, Kimberly Mascaro.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Stella and Angelo Mascaro; brother, John Mascaro; and nephew, Johnny Mascaro.
A private family service will be held at Glendale Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be directed to Kiya Koda Humane Society.
