Mrs. Marie Davis

Services for Mrs. Marie Davis, 83, of 2014 4th Ave., Rock Island, who died Wednesday, will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Rock Island. The Rev. George J. Schroeder, pastor, will officiate, and burial be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island. Friends may call from 7 to 9 tonight at the Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island, where the rosary will be recited at 7:30 p.m.

Marie Burke was born in Tama County, Iowa. She married Ed Davis in 1917, in Winterset, Iowa. He preceded her in death in 1925. She had lived in Rock Island since 1940, moving her from Des Moines.

Mrs. Davis had been employed at Farmall Works for 16 years, retiring in 1961. She was a charter member of Local No. 1309, UAW at Farmall.

Surviving are two sons, Edward, Rock Island, and Paul A., Kansas City, Kan.; two daughters, Mrs. Doris Vulcano, of Des Moines, and Mrs. Ruth Horton, Omaha, Neb.; nine grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. Margaret Frazier, Algona, Iowa.
