Robert W. Boos, 77, of Indianola died of a respiratory ailment Wednesday at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. The body was cremated and memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Overton Funeral Home in Indianola. Burial of the cremains will be at a later date.
Mr. Boos was born in De Soto and had lived in the Indianola area 29 years. He was the retired co-owner of Plaza Motors in Des Moines and also had been a ticket taker at Drake University and Veterans Memorial Auditorium.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 165, Veterans of Foreign Wars 4123 and Browns Chapel Church in Indianola. He had been a volunteer driver with Veterans Medical Center and enjoyed cooking and riding his four wheeler.
He is survived by his wife, Earnestine; two sons, Robert of Auburn, Wash., and Russell of Altoona; three daughters, Maureen Fedson of Des Moines, Teresa Kuder of Altoona and Carol McDole of Urbandale; two sisters, Lucile Fisher and Irene Brittian, both of Adel; nine grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Medical Center’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Center in Des Moines.
