Doris (Dottie) Elizabeth (Joiner) Faux was born on May 20, 1958 to Edna Geraldine Vice and Needham James Joiner, III. She had five siblings. She grew up and lived in Des Moines, IA where she graduated from Des Moines High School in 1976. Dottie held various fulltime and part-time positions as she contributed to raising her family. She was very active in her community. She enjoyed spending time with family, friends, gardening, camping, cruising, and being at the races. This is where she met her longtime partner in crime and loving husband, Randy Faux. This was the beginning of a beautiful life.
Randy and Dottie were united in marriage on June 6, 1981. They chose to make Earlham, IA their home for the duration of her life. During their love of each other, they were blessed with five wonderful children. She still found time to support her family and her loving husband’s love of racing. Whether it was yelling at him to not start the race car, because it was too late and she didn’t want to wake the neighbors or cheering him on while he was on the track. Although, there were plenty of late nights racing, all-nighters working on the car after a crash so the car would be ready for the next track, or spending almost every anniversary at the track, she loved it all.
Dottie is survived by her, husband Randy Faux, Daughters Jody (Davis) Fong of Adel, GA, Samantha Faux of Waukee, IA, Brandy Faux of Earlham, IA, and Nicole Faux (Chris Glaze) of Lenox, GA. Ten grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as many other family and friends who will surely morn her loss and celebrate her life for a lifetime.
Dottie is preceded in death by her stillborn son, mother Edna, father Needham, brother Jeff, and many other family and friends.
Please join the family on Saturday November 9th 2024 from 10:30-3:00 at the Earlham Community Center to celebrate the life of Doris (Dottie) Faux.
