A memorial service for Harold Miehe, 82, who died Sunday, Aug. 9, at Bethesda Care Center, was held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, Aug. 11, at St. Paul Lutheran, Maynard, with Pastor Reiter officiating. A 10:30 a.m. burial at Long Grove cemetery preceded the memorial service.
Mr. Miehe, born in Maynard on March 5, 1905, was the son of Albert and Clara Miehe. He was married to Esther Mawe of Manchester, on Oct. 24, 1926. They resided in Maynard until June 1984 when Winterset became their home. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in Oct. 1986.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Marian and Art Baschke, Winterset; three granddaughters, four great-grandchildren, Kathi and Gary Haymond, Kim and Andrea of Iowa City; Sheri and Phil Matlage, Sarah and Paul of Winterset; Janet and Brad Brown of Cumming; and a brother, Ernest Miehe of Westgate.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Esther, on July 7, 1987.
