Gladys Marie Hunter, 83, of 303 Second Ave. W., died Tuesday, Sept. 16, 1986 at the Mahaska County Hospital. She was born April 7, 1903 in Cleveland, Lucas County, the daughter of Amy Jane Delmar and Edward Randolph.
She married Charles Leslie Marshall on Jan. 15, 1927. He preceded her in death. On Oct. 20, 1974 she married Everett L. Hunter. She had attended grades four through twelve in Albia. She also attended Iowa State Teachers College and was a graduate of Drake University. She taught in several Iowa communities, including Wyoming, Wilton Junction, Newton, and Des Moines, where she retired. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Oskaloosa.
She is survived by her husband, Everett Hunter of Oskaloosa; a son Charles Edward Marshall of Des Moines; two grandsons; and a sister, Carmie Miller of Ottumwa.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 1 p.m. at the Garland-Van Arkel Funeral Chapel with Rev. David Troxler of the First Christian Chruch officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery in Lucas.
