James Foster Johnson
Senator from the Fourth district, comprising Lucas and Wayne counties, was born in Lucas county, Iowa, April 25, 1875. He received his early education in the country schools, and afterwards attended Western Normal College and Simpson College. For several years he taught school in the winter time and farmed in the summer. His time is now devoted altogether to farming and stock raising. He was elected a member of the board of supervisors of his county in 1910, and served three years. He held no other public office prior to his election as representative to the general assembly in 1914 and 1916. Elected senator in 1920.
