N.E. Kendall
Governor, was born on his father's farm at Greenville, Lucas county, March 17, 1868. Was educated in the rural schools of that county. Was admitted to the bar on May 15, 1889. Was married to Miss Belle Wooden, of Centerville, on April 20, 1896. Is a lawyer by profession, serving two terms (1893-1897) as county attorney of Monroe county; five terms (1899-1909) as representative in the general assembly of Iowa, the last term as speaker of the house; two terms (1909-1913) as member of the congress of the United States.
