Page 1Jacob C. Hunsicker, was born at Lancaster, Pennsylvania, April 23, 1835 and died at his late home in Wapello, Iowa, Dec. 27th, 1915, aged 80 years, 8 months and 4 days. He received his early education in the schools of Lancaster and afterward going to Philadelphia, where he took up the study of dentistry. In 1855, at the age of 20, he moved with his parents to Wapello, Iowa where they settled and which has since been his home. The decedent was a survivor of the Civil war, being a member of Company K, of the Eighth Iowa Infantry and was a member of A. M. Taylor Post No. 153, G. A. R.
On August 12, 1862 he was united in marriage to Isabelle Foor. To this union were born nine children five of whom preceded him in death. Besides the widow the following children survive him. Mrs. Ida Reed, Mrs. Hazel Beane and Leroy Hunsicker, all of Wapello and Abraham Hunsicker, of Muscatine. The funeral services were held yesterday afternoon conducted by Rev. Coggshall and A. M. Taylor Post, with interment in Wapello cemetery.
