Mrs. J. A. Kemp, for sixty years a resident of Louisa county, died at her home in Grandview yesterday morning at five o'clock following an illness of about a week's duration. Senility influenced by an attack of pneumonia is attributed as the cause of her death. Mrs. Kemp was one of the best known residents of Grandview and enjoyed the distinction of being one of the oldest residents of Louisa county. She was born in Ohio, June 15, 1831. With her parents she move to Louisa county when a young woman and had resided here continuously. She was a member of the Church of God, uniting with that church when it was first founded about 70 years ago.

To survive her she leaves her husband and two sons, John and Grant Kemp of Grandview and one daughter, Mrs. Willis McGrew of Grandview. The following nieces also mourn her demise. Mrs. J. A. Asp, Mrs. J. Butler, Mrs.L. Stebbins and Mrs. George Rink all of Muscatine. The funeral services will be held at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon.
